anyone put lots of skills into Beast Mastery
Has any Ranger actually tried to use Beast Mastery in a skill set. Most seem to have just taken Charm Animal and Revive Animal. Has anyone actually tried to make is a viable main? or is it just that FUBAR'd?

I have 4 BM skills on my skillbar, and I have used as many as 5. The beast attacks are nice as you can trigger them even while you are busy in a casting animation or the like. Seting my wolf on an opposing spellcaster I can feel free to cast away, knowing that if I see them cast I can hit a key and my wolf will interrupt them and park them on their butt. I rely mostly on the party monk keeping my pet alive, as comfort animal is a horrible skill, but I still carry it. I'd say that the extra skills make my wolf a much better killing machine, though my guildies are so efficient that it's hard really to tell sometimes - as soon as I find the elite pet skill it'll go straight in though - extra damage with bonus energy is too good to pass up.

Only reason I carry it is to bring him back from the dead. The heal isn't worth it. If you could resurrect a pet I wouldn't bother with it at all. Given that he is an important part of my arsenal I need to have it - if they ever merge comfort animal with charm animal (PLEASE do this!) I'll be thrilled, or even if they make pets resurrectable I'll be happy, as I get a slot back.
Oh, and is it FUBAR? not quite, but it is not a great line. If you are after effectiveness go pretty much any other line, this is only for fun - though it works tolerably, and has edges obviously in some circumstances (I was pacified and mauled the opponent to death with my pet skills for example) Last edited by Epinephrine; May 20, 2005 at 07:52 PM // 19:52.. |

This isn't a big deal, since from what I've read people change skills for the mirror match anyway, but: Your pet doesn't come with you for the mirror.
